Dr. Hilary McClafferty is one of only 350 board certified physicians in the United States with two years of fellowship training through the University of Arizona Program in Integrative Medicine. This rigorous program, directed by Dr. Andrew Weil, is internationally recognized and remains the only academic training program of its kind in the country.

In the program, Dr. McClafferty received training in evaluating effective and appropriate complementary therapies, received in-depth study in nutrition, botanicals, supplements, mind-body medicine, health related behavior change, exercise, and stress management techniques.

She opened her consulting practice in Integrative Medicine in 2007, and works with women and children to improve their overall health, whether they live with a chronic illness or are generally well. In her comprehensive consult visits she considers all aspects of the patient's lifestyle, and allows ample time to discuss their concerns.

Dr. McClafferty has a special interest in helping people navigate medical challenges successfully, and is highly experienced in assisting patients preparing for surgery, and for the challenges of cancer treatment.

Using an integrative approach, she is a successful personal weight loss coach for both adults and children, and is a published author on the topic.

She graduated from the University of Michigan in 1986, and is board certified in pediatrics and pediatric emergency medicine. She is a member of the American Academy of Pediatrics Steering Committee on Complementary and Integrative Medicine, with 22 years of clinical experience in private and academic settings.
